SUPPLIES: Large
Round Papier Mache Box (approx. 7.25”) |
|
|
DIRECTIONS: Stand
the papier mache box on its side. Find the middle between the
bottom of the box and where the lid ends. Using the X-acto knife,
cut a slot at lest 1.5” long and 1/8” wide to put the money
through. Paint
the outside of the box, including the lid, with the white acrylic
paint. Let dry. Sponge paint “calico cat” spot on the box with
the orange, brown and black acrylic paints. Let dry. Trace
and cut out pieces from fun foam according to the
patterns. The
lid of the box will be the cat’s face. The money slot is the top
center of the cat bank. Position the ears on either side of the
face, behind the lid edge. Glue in place. Position the tail to the
back of the cat (or the bottom of the box turned on its side).
Glue the tail in place. Take the paws and place on either side of
the bottom of the cat’s face, glue in place. Sponge
paint calico spots onto the tail, ears and paws. Let dry. Position
the eyes to the middle of the face and glue in place. Take the
black permanent marker and draw whiskers below the eyes. Draw a
smile below the whiskers. Glue the pink nose in the center of the
whiskers. Make a bow with the ribbon and glue between the paws at the bottom of the face. Glue the jingle bell to the bow. Now you are ready to start saving money in your cat bank! |
