Directions Trace
and cut out pieces from foamie according to the
patterns. Position
black hairpiece over face piece. Glue in place. Dip the end of the
thin paintbrush into the black acrylic paint and paint
“dip-dot” eyes onto the face. Set aside to dry. Fold
the 2¼” x 1½” piece of washi paper into third so that you
end up with a piece ¾” x 1½” in size. This is for the body. Fold
the ¼” x 1½” washi paper in half lengthwise with the print
on the inside. Align the strip to the top edge of the body, with
½” extending on the left side and the longer edge to the right.
Glue in place. Fold the left edge of the strip onto the body at a
slight angle. Fold the longer right side of the strip diagonally
over the body. This should form the kimono collar. Glue strip ends
in place. Take
the 2¼” x 2” washi paper and fold over all edges 1/8” to
the wrong side, lightly glue in place. Fold the strip in half,
creating a 1” x ¾” piece. This is the kimono sleeve. Position
the head on top of the body at an upturned angle and glue in
place. Place the sleeve at an upturned angle on the body and glue
in place. Fold
the 2” x 2” origami paper in half, so that the piece is 1” x
2”. Fan fold the origami paper the 2” length. Glue one end
together to form a fan shape. Tie a small bow with the 1/8”
ribbon and glue to the gathered end of the fan. Position fan onto
the sleeve, slightly covering the face. Glue in place. Tie a double knot with the Needleloft cord. Trim excess and glue onto the body at the back of the sleeve. Glue a flower or flower bead to the girl’s head. Glue the pin back behind the body. © 2007 Ben Franklin Crafts, Inc. |
