Directions
Trace and cut out eye patches from felt according to the patterns. Using the pictured sample as a guide, place the black eye patches onto one of the 1 1/2” white pom poms. Place a 10mm moving eye on each patch and glue in place. Place the 7mm black pom pom under the eyes and glue in place for the nose.
Place a ½” black pom pom on either side on the top of the head for the ears, Glue in place. Take the complete panda head and glue to the other 1 ½” white pom pom.
To make the grass skirt, take the strip of green felt and cut snips along the length of one edge, leaving about ½” along the top. You can shape the bottoms of the fringe by rounding the straight edges of each tiny strip. Wrap the grass skirt around the bottom of the body. Spot glue in place. Overlap the edges on the back and glue securely.
Take the 1/8” ribbon and cut into small 10 – 12 pieces about 1 ¼” long. Tie a single knot in the center of each piece and angle cut the ends. Use the wire cutters to cut off the ribbons rose heads, leaving just a little of the stem to hold the rose together. Place five of the rose heads along the top of the body like a lei and glue in place. Glue the knotted pieces of ribbon in between the roses for “leaves” of the lei. Glue on a ribbon leaf and the last ribbon rose by the ear of the panda.
Glue a pin back behind the body if you want to use as a pin. Knot a length of cording and glue to the top of the head if you want to make it into an ornament.
