Directions

Take the 1” x 2” pieces of paper. Fold the top left and right corners to the center, aligning to the bottom edge. You should end up with a triangle piece. Fold all of the pieces into triangles.

Starting from the pointed end of the egg, place two triangles on opposite sides with their points touching. Pin the ends to the Styrofoam. Repeat with two more triangles covering the point of the Styrofoam egg.

Row 2: Starting about 1/8” below the point, repeat and place four triangles around the egg. Pin ends down.

Rows 3 – 6: Starting about 1/8” from the point, start your next row of triangles. For these rows you will use 8 triangles. Place the first four around the egg. Then place the next four in between the first four, slightly overlapping. Pin all ends down. Continue until you have done approx. 6 rows. Most of the egg should be covered by then.

Finishing: Take 8 triangles and fold the bottom points towards each other, squaring out that end. Place these pieces around the top of the egg, covering the reaming Styrofoam. Fold the remaining triangles this way and layer on top if needed.

Take the ribbon and cut off about 6” for a hanger. Tie the ends together and glue at the center top of the pinecone. Take the rest of the ribbon and make into a loopy bow. Take a little bit of ribbon and tie the ribbon bundle together at the center. Glue the loopy bow on the top over the hanger knot.
