Directions
Using the Hearty Clay Color Scale Tool,
measure out an “I” ball of yellow Hearty Clay. Roll into a ball and
shape into a teardrop. Flatten teardrop to about 1/4” thick to form the
pineapple shape. Use the edge of the color scale as a tool and indent
criss-cross lines on top of the pineapple. Place an “E” bead wherever
the lines intersect for accent. Push the bead in while the clay is still
wet. If the beads appear loose after the pineapple dries, use a little
tacky glue to hold in place.
To make the pineapple’s crown, you must
first mix some green clay. Use the color scale and measure out a “G”
ball of yellow clay and an “F” ball of blue clay. Mix together well to
form the green clay.
Use the color scale and measure out a “D”
ball of green clay. Flatten ball slightly and make 3 snips in the clay.
Fan out sections and shape tips into points. Place on the top of the
pineapple with the points facing downward. Roll the remainder of the
green clay into a ball. Flatten slightly and make 4 snips in the clay.
Fan out sections and shape tips into points. Place on top of the first
green section, this time with the tips pointing upwards, forming the
pineapple crown.
Let the pineapple dry and glue pin back
behind the pineapple.
