Directions

Apply sealer to the basket. After the sealer has dried, sand the lid smooth.

Paint the handle Medium Foliage Green. Paint the basket and lid Bittersweet Orange. The trim on the basket is painted Poppy Orange. Tip: Allow the paint to dry completely between applications.

Using the ¾-inch brush, paint a Poppy Orange line down the center of each raised basket slat. Paint a Medium Foliage line down the center of the poppy Orange line with the liner brush. Paint a straw line on each side of the Poppy orange line with a liner brush.  Tip: Thin the paint with a little water to make painting easier with the liner brush.

Using the ¾-inch brush and Poppy Orange, paint a line across the lid of the basket coming out from the strap hinge to make 2 equal parts. Then paint another line across the basket to divide the top into four equal pieces. Paint 2 additional lines to divide the top into 8 equal pieces. Allow the paint to dry. 

Using the No. 3 round brush, paint a Poppy orange line across the lid between the wide lines previously painted. Allow the paint to dry.

Using the ¾-inch brush and Poppy Orange, paint a circle around the top approximately ½-inch from the edge. Then paint another circle halfway to the center of the lid. Allow the paint to dry.

Paint a Medium Foliage line in the center of each straight Poppy Orange line on the lid with the No. 3 round brush. Allow the paint to dry.

Using the liner brush and the Straw-colored paint, paint a line on each side of the ¾-inch Poppy Orange lines. Allow the paint to dry.

Paint a Dark Foliage line in the center of each of the ¾-inch circle lines with the No. 3 round brush. Allow the paint to dry.

Paint a Medium Foliage line around the edge of the lid, one between the Poppy Orange circle lines and one to the center of the Poppy Orange line.

Paint the ball knob Dark Foliage Green. Allow the paint to dry. Make Straw-colored dots with a cotton swab randomly on the ball knob.

Paint two leaves Dark Foliage Green and one Medium Foliage Green. Dip a Stencil sponge into Medium Foliage Green, pat off excess on palette and lightly sponge the tips of the leaves on the dark leaves. Lightly sponge Straw mixed with Medium Foliage Green (1:1) on the tips of the light leaf. Using the No. 3 round brush paint vein lines in the green mix on the dark leaves. Paint Dark Foliage lines on the light leaf with the No. 3 round brush.

Glue the ball knob on the center top of the lid.

Varnish all painted surfaces.

Wrap the wire around a leaf to secure, then wrap the other end of wire around the ball knob to hold in place. Repeat the remaining leaves.
